HP OfficeJet 6600/6700 Printhead Replacement - Detailed Printer Repair!

Hi
In this video, I'll do a disassembly of the HP OfficeJet 6600 (Same exact procedure for the 6700 Premium) and replace the printhead.
The entire repair process is pretty simple and can be done by anyone.

↓ Tools and things needed ↓
- Torx T8 Screwdriver
- Flat Screwdriver (2-2.5-3mm)
- Tweezers could be useful if you drop a screw inside the printer
- Paper towels
- Glass cleaner (Windex in the USA and other countries is fine) if you plan to clean the insides
- Latex Gloves
- Of course, the Printhead

Gregory Wieting : Its been two years but could you add a video on cleaning or replacing the Ink service station (ISS) and bottom absorber foam? Many head failures are the result of this part being oversaturated with ink. Replacing just the Printhead will just cause another failure.
John Maturo : Paolo, thank you for this video! I do have a question, I mean 2 questions, would you please show how to remove and replace the LCD touch screen and do you know if I can remove and clean the ink spittoon( mine is very full of ink sludge). Thank you in advance for responding! John Maturo.
Joachim Keppler : Thanks for this wonderful detailed video. It is very helpful to replace the print head step by step. I would propose one litte improvement, at minute 14 the insertion of the new print head is shown. There is missing a remark that the encoder stripe has to be checked that it is inside the LED barrier of the PCB. I didn´t considered that and wondered why the print head could not find a defined position afterwards.
paul slattery : I'm so glad I found your video production. You are the best! You saved me a lot of money and I became a new subscriber. Two things we a little different on my machine. 1.The gears that rotated clockwise to release the print head had a metal cover over them. I Just removed one screw and I could get to the gears. 2. The air hoses were threaded through the springs. I just left them inside the machine while I worked on it. These were very minor differences and did not give me any trouble. But...when I went to install my ink cartridges they would not stay inside the printhead. Why? Because my supplier did not include the little white swivel guides that hold the cartridges into the printhead. (Unfortunately I did not notice this until the job was finished) So... I figured out how to remove them from my old printhead and install them into the new printhead. The great thing about this? I was able to do it without disassembling anything. Thanks again from a "non technical" person in St. Paul MN, USA.
Mr. Grape! : Hey man! Awesome Video. I had a question, do I need to bleed the ink or something so the air is out? Or do I just literally copy your steps and I am done? Thanks man

Trash Anime Clips : Gotta love HP products and them breaking or being designed to die over time and not being fixable. Smh HP
Nathan Haustein : Worked perfect. Cleaned a little corrosion off the pads and back in action. Thank you.
XO MtHood : Found the best fix for this printer is dropping 48" into my trash receptacle.
Vasîle : They call it HPP, but one does not realize the meaning until one has to replace the printer head and throw it anyway (with newly purchased cartridge set). HPP indeed !!!
Butterfly Whisperer : One question. Will buying a new printhead fix the “Missing or Failed Printhead” Error?

Marc Matthews : I just did this, and it worked for me. My printer stopped printing Cyan right in the middle of a print job, even when the cartridge was not empty. No matter what self-cleaning I did via the printer itself (app or otherwise), it did not fix the problem. So I assume there was a clog. I watched this video, bought the recommended cleaning kit, and ran 40 ml through my Cyan nozzle as demonstrated in the video. I did it twice (20 ml x 2) just to be safe. After putting everything back together, the printer worked perfectly. So I can say it worked for me and I would recommend this effort before you decide to scrap your printer and get a new one (unless you really want a new one). Thanks for the video and the resolution to my problem. :)
Jen Lyon : This works but you can use warm water and a touch of dishsoap that cuts grease. Don't waste your money on a kit. A syringe works great but you don't need the tube on the end. Just flush until it's clear. You should change out the paper towel a few times.
Jessica Roth : This worked the first time, a couple of months ago. Got the message again recently, bought the solution kit, no luck. :( Wondering if a new printer is in order.
Linda Morrison : I enjoyed your video it was very helpful. I have a HP 6600 it probably needs to be replaced I bought it in 2012. My problem is when I print the thing that holds the cartridges goes to the right and get stuck with this loud noise. Any ideas.
Russell Ryan : Excellent, if the printer has been setting a while without the ink cartridges installed I'm guessing the printhead is clogged with ink. The ink has dried and block the channels for the printhead. I'm guessing.....I used this cleaner and BOOM!, prints like new.
